doLodge

doLodge is a contemporary name for the homestead Prebilič with over 500-year tradition. It is situated in the village Dol in the Kolpa River canyon. A typical farmhouse built partly of stone and wood was substantially redesigned in the 1960s, when the wooden walls of the house were replaced by the brick walls and larger windows were installed. In 2021 the house was fully renovated and its renovation is based on reuse of various pieces of equipment and materials, with which the house retains its old spirit. Despite its museum-like interior the house offers the comfort of modern lifestyle.

The living space (70 m2) includes 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a bathroom. The central part of the house is an open space occupied by the kitchen, the dining room and the living room. There are two distinct elements that connect all three rooms: the traditional brick oven and the hardwood floor made of recycled larch planks, which also decorate the kitcken cupboards. The traditional hardwood floor extends in both bedrooms which are also equipped with brick ovens and double beds. The attic is an open-space sleeping area (70 m2) with additional 2 double beds and 4 twin beds. The whole house is equipped with period furniture, some of which originally belonged to the house, however most of it is second-hand and fully restored. The terrace next to the kitchen offers wonderful views of a large garden which extends to the Kolpa River. A garage for storing bicycles and fishing equipment is also available to the guests. The garden is actually a motorhome area for three motorhomes with water, and electricity supply, free WiFi and enough parking space for all the guests.
