Program description:
Explore the hidden paths of Kočevski Rog, wild meadows, and almost overgrown orchards in the former Gottscheer villages. Get to know the legend of the stone and the devil and learn how to safely and responsibly move in the habitat of brown bears.
The hike to Bezgova gorica leads us from Koprivnik to the ruins of the former Gottscheer village Podstene. Our intermediate destination is a forest hut in the village, where we will take time to rest and explore the bear habitat. We will also climb the three surrounding thousand-meter mountains, shyly hiding overgrown with lush forests. Meadows and surrounding forest clearings are scattered with medicinal herbs, shrubs, and fruit trees - just why is one of them called the bear pear and how do we use it?
