BIKE FISHING – a cycling and fishing trip around Kočevsko

Programme duration: 5 days
Suitable for: couples, families with older children, small groups of up to 6 people (minimum body height 160cm)

Group size: 2–6 people
Equipment required: the price includes the use of an e-bike and a helmet, as well as a complete set of fishing equipment, while participants must provide appropriate sportswear and footwear for cycling and fishing. If you want to use your own bike and/or fishing equipment, please inform the organiser in advance.
Possibility of encountering: deer, roe deer, fox, hedgehog, rabbit, etc.

Programme description:

- reception and get-acquainted dinner in the valley of the Kolpa River;
- the next day, after breakfast, an e-bike ride along the trails of the Kočevsko forests, tracking wild animals;
- forest picnic and fishing on Lake Kočevska Reka near Kočevska Reka;
- dinner and overnight at the Marina Ranch in Koče;
- after breakfast, an e-bike ride over the Strma Reber pass into the Osilnica valley for a day of fishing;
- lunch, dinner and overnight in the Osilnica valley;
- after breakfast, an e-bike ride and fishing along the Kolpa River towards Kostel and in the evening, a farewell dinner;
- after breakfast, departure or (optionally) exploration of Kočevsko.

Programme features:

Day 1: In the evening, after arriving in Kočevsko in the valley of the forest river Kolpa, we will have a get-acquainted dinner and a presentation of the programme and safety tips. Then it will be time to rest at your accommodation.

Day 2: After breakfast, an experienced local guide will explain the day's activities and then you will set off together with your mountain e-bike into the forests of Kočevsko and start tracking the wild animals that live there. This will be followed by a forest picnic in Kočevska Reka by Lake Kočevska Reka. This is also where you will start your first fishing experience – fly fishing and spin fishing for pike and pikeperch. You will end your day at the Ranch Marina with a superb dinner of local delicacies.

Day 3: After a delicious breakfast, your guide will brief you on the day's activities, then you will go for an e-bike ride and descend into the valley of the Kolpa River over the Strma Reber pass. A wonderful day of fishing will follow, with fly fishing and spin fishing for grayling and trout, and possibly for huchen in the winter. At the same time, you will be able to experience the enchanting beauty of the forest river Kolpa and take a dip in it. During the day, you will satisfy your hunger with a picnic by the Kolpa River, and for dinner, there will be the traditional delicacies of Osilnica for you to enjoy.

Day 4: After breakfast, your guide will brief you again on the activities scheduled for the last day. You will then cycle along the Kolpa River towards Kostel, all the while making stops to fish in the Kolpa. We will finish the day at the starting point with a dinner of local culinary delights and sum up our impressions of the whole cycling and fishing trip together.

Day 5: After breakfast, the trip organisers will wish you a safe journey home or, on request and subject to a surcharge, organise an additional trip around Kočevsko.
