Program description:

A trip around Koprivnik and its surroundings invites you to discover stories from the everyday life of Gottscheers in a very special way together with a guide.

We will peek into the courtyards of former taverns and inns, learn about the sad fate of the former Koprivnica church and learn a few words from the almost extinct Gottscheer dialect. The trip will end at Zavod Nesseltal, where we will visit the Ethnological Collection of the Gottscheers and try delicious Gottscheer snacks.

Due to the turmoil of the Second World War and the sudden emigration of the Gottscheer people their material heritage was lost, along with the gradual loss of their oral tradition and knowledge of topographical names. This is especially true in the forested area of Kočevski Rog, where only rare remains of some villages or old fruit trees that appear in the middle of the forest, remind us that this used to be landscape once inhabited by people.
