Snowshoeing along the wolf trail through the snowy wilderness of Kočevsko

Package description:

• On the first evening, you will get introduced to the wildlife of Kočevsko and its forest inhabitants,
• after breakfast, on the second day, you will go trekking and trace tracking,
• in the afternoon you will be able to make soap in the form of lynx and bear paws.
• on day three, you will continue with trace tracking,
• the program ends after lunch.

Programme details:

Day 1: Introduction to the wilderness

Your winter adventure will begin late in the afternoon at the Ranch Marina, which will be your starting point for tracking in the coming days. After meeting your guide and accommodation in pleasant rooms, a lecture will be held in Kočevska Reka. The lecture is intended to teach you about the environment of the wild carnivorans (wolf, bear, and lynx) present in the Kočevje forests, their habits, and the methods for tracking them that will be used in the following days. Your guide will also inform you about the correct behaviour when following the signs of the presence of wild animals, so that your experience will be as interesting and safe as possible for you, as well as nature-friendly. The lecture will be followed by dinner.

Day 2: Tracking

After breakfast, you will head to the first tracking point, where the activity will take place throughout the forenoon. After lunch, you will continue tracking at another location. Depending on the weather conditions and the fitness of the group, the afternoon activity can be replaced by making soap in the form of lynx and bear paws or various ceramic products, or it can be extended into night tracking.

Day 3: Tracking

On the second day, after breakfast, you will start with a short tracking session at one location, followed by a snack and another two hours of tracking at a second location. After a warm lunch in one of the local inns, our event will be finished and departure will follow soon after.
