Koča na Somovi gori

There's nothing better than resting your tired legs on a comfortable deckchair after a day of hiking, reading your favourite book to the sound of birds singing, with the occasional smell of stew slowly cooking in the pot. Koča na Somovi Gori is a fantastic location for something like this. It is located deep in the wilderness of the Kočevski Rog, 9 km from the town of Kočevje, and offers unique experiences in the wilderness.

The hut can accommodate up to six people and is equipped with basic necessities including a toilet, shower, hot water and electricity on a generator. A fully equipped kitchen ensures that you can prepare your favourite meals with ease. Guests also have access to a natural fridge, which allows them to preserve fresh ingredients in an environmentally friendly way.

The hut is well equipped and offers plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots, spices, vinegar, oil, drinking water (bottled) and much more. There is also a fireplace and utensils (barbecue) outside so that guests can have a picnic in the open air. Towels, bed linen, blankets and pillows are also provided, so sleeping bags are not needed. You only need to bring your own food and preferred drinks. However, if you need something specific, please contact the host and she may be able to provide it. Everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay is thoughtfully provided.

The cottage is not fully accessible by car (the last 600m), but guests can drive themselves to this point and then be driven (or their luggage) to the cottage by the host Iva.

Guests should feel that inaccessibility only means guaranteed peace and a complete disconnection from everyday life. You can also ask your host about the possibility of horse-riding and experience part of the Kočevski Rog on horseback.
