Bearlog Hostel is the first hostel in Kočevsko and is located in the center of Kočevje, next to the Kočevje Market and in the immediate vicinity of the bus station. It is located in a renovated house with a rich history, but its exterior has remained the same as the original building, while the interior has been furnished in a modern style and offers accommodation appreciated by even the most demanding guests.

The Hostel has 30 beds available in 8 themed rooms that are named after trees and animals. The rooms take you to a parallel adventurous forest world where you can feel the touch of nature and wilderness. One of the double rooms is adapted for people with disabilities. For all our guests we provide free breakfast, prepared from locally grown products.

On the ground floor, in the size of a little less than 400m2, is the central Tourist Information Centre for the destination Kočevsko, a reception desk, a large dining room with a shared kitchen, a social room for socializing and a double room for people with immobility or physical disability.
On the first floor, there are two three-bed rooms and two four-bed rooms with shared baths (toilet and shower). On the upper floor, there are two double rooms with an extra bed and a group room with 8 mixed beds. Each room has its own bath (toilet and shower).
All rooms are equipped with keys and lockers for storing luggage and personal belongings. All rooms have Wi-Fi access. A distinctive feature of the Hostel is that it includes breakfast, prepared from domestic, organic local products.

We also offer bike and e-bike rentals to explore the nature of Kočevsko. There are 475 kilometers of bicycle trails in Kočevsko!

Institute Kočevsko has joined the initiative of the Slovenian Tourist Organization "Green & Safe" in caring for green, responsible and safe tourism. In accordance with their recommendations, we confirm that in Hostel Bearlog we care for the safety of our guests, respect the national institute of public health (NIJZ) recommendations and implement protocols that are compliant with standardized hygiene and health protocols outlined by the WTTC. We also strive for the principles of sustainable development in the already set forms of operation for a green, active and healthy Slovenia and are looking for opportunities to create new sustainable products and services.

At the destination level, Kočevsko received the Slovenia Green Destination GOLD label in 2020 and Hostel Bearlog is the proud holder of the Travelife environmental label - an international certificate for sustainable operations. We also have the Slovenia Green Accommodation and Bear Friendly signs.
